    As I was reading Coraline and thinking of the upcoming movie, I thought for sure (but mistakenly) that Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, BeetleJuice, Nightmare Before Christmas) must be the director of this film because that's the way I visualized the unfolding story as I read.     As I was reading Coraline and thinking of the upcoming movie, I thought for sure (but mistakenly) that Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, BeetleJuice, Nightmare Before Christmas) must be the director of this film because that's the way I visualized the unfolding story as I read. It is at once scary and entertaining with descriptions of repulsive creatures reminiscent of Susan Sarandon's Alien days. After reading Gaiman's The Graveyard Book, one sees recurring themes of good v. evil. Score one for the white hats as good wins once again in the form of a plucky little girl named Coraline and a talking black cat! An effortless read, the words fly off the page. Maybe I am becoming a lover of fantasy?!
