I could not imagine, before reading this book, that any book of Anne Rice could passionate me more than The Witching Hour. And of Vampires I had enough, as well.
But... Cry to Heaven does. The music, the sexual struggle, as usual, Rice's desire to describe everything not how it is but how affects the characters. Its like you are reading and feel the urge to listen... at least some Vivaldi, Corelli, who knows... something of that time, to feel the mood completely. And to have something, after reading the book, which reminds you of the whole thing.
