  Basically this book is #1 in a trilogy that tells a fictional story from the Arthurian time. It is all about Merlin (you know the magician from King Arthur) when he was younger and the things that happened to him during his childhood.

  I really loved the depth of the book and how it dug down deep into his life. It introduces you to Merlin's mom, his father, his grandfather and other immediate family all while telling you how he acquired his powers and learned to control them. The book then takes you to Merlin’s teenage years where he meets his father and develops in to a trusted confidant and advisor to him. I’d tell you more but it would ruin it, you’ll just have to read it to find out!

  I had a slow time getting into this book but it really picked up for me and I'll definitely be looking for more by this author.
