  • A Dangerous Fortune

Another well written novel by Ken Follett.

A great insight into the 1860 London high life and low life. A mysterious accident leads to years of cover ups, fueled by greed. Many twists and turns, a real page turner!

  • a 5-star book!

This book rivets the reader to its pages from the very beginning!!

For years, I've been reckoning "The Pillars of the Earth" as Ken Follett's best book.

    I was probably wrong.

  • It starts in 1866 at an exclusive English school and you wonder where and when it will stop. You know by now that I am a fan of Follett. So why don't you read this one book and make up your own mind about him?

Everything starts with a schoolboy drowning in very misterious circumnstances: young Edward Pilaster is said to have caused his death, but his friend Miguel Miranda will save him from prison giving a false evidence about the tragedy. This will help Miguel to make the right impression to Edward's mother, Augusta, a strong, beautiful and manipulative woman.
