One of the best books I have ever read! Not only that it deals with atheism on the turn of the 20th century (that kind of literature is was Theologians should read...), moreover the plot takes place in one of my favourite cities, Moscow, and the genre is a mixture of magical realism and satire. But don't worry, it is not as confusing as Salman Rushdie's Satanic Verses, it is rather easy to read and quite understandable, but still very intelligent and clever.
I really did like the love story, which is not kitschy at all, but rather puzzling.
