This book is about psychological blind spots. A short one, and very interesting. With our eyes open to a new perspective, we could be able to spot those hidden opportunities.
Why do we fail to spot them in the first place? Because our brain is very efficient to look for (primed) the expected, not the obvious unexpected. The more certainty you want, the narrower your perspective could be, the less gorilla you can spot. The more you get used to the environment, the more mindlessness you become, the more likely you miss the gorilla.
How to break it? Be relax. Be curious. Ask "why". Examine the unexpected or the surprise. By doing so, you can turn your brain from autopilot mode into manual mode to spot the gorillas :)...Continua
