The book has two themes: the importance of a digital computer in the Apollo landings and the relationship between man and machine.
I found the text a bit confusing, as I don't know much about NASA's programs previous to Apollo, and it goes back and forward reviewing some aspects from them, mixing names and people non-linearly.
The description of the Apollo digital computer is shocking and very interesting. It is a strange piece of machinery given the current state of computing.
The last third of the book is more direct and entertaining, even describing all of the moon landings.
