  • Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom

    Weird but Worth it

This is probably the strangest book I've ever read. In the future, we've beaten death. A person can be cloned in 2 days and their mind downloaded from their last backup. So whenever you die, you're just created again with all your old memories and emotions. If that's not weird enough, the technology ... (continue)

This is probably the strangest book I've ever read. In the future, we've beaten death. A person can be cloned in 2 days and their mind downloaded from their last backup. So whenever you die, you're just created again with all your old memories and emotions. If that's not weird enough, the technology of Disney World is so outdated, people actually live there to maintain eveything so that people looking for a nostalgic trip back in time can ride the old rides.
It takes a little while for the book to get going, but once it does it really takes off. With a great twist at the end, this book is really the sci-fi for the non-sci-fi reader.

Over-zealous wording but a novel idea

A little over-wordy in the beginning utilizing terms and acronyms, but it's an interesting idea (and commentary) of a society and political system in a future Disney World / Kissimmee, FL, locale.

It has some clever and plausible sounding evolvings, and it really kept me thinking for days. If you have some time to spare, i definetly recommend this book!

  • Fiction by a Disney fanatic. Futuristic… no one dies, they just do a "back-up" and get a fresh body. This guy definitely knows his Disney. Fun for a Walt Disney World fan, and very unusual. I would imagine, though, that the book would get a little tedious if you weren't a big Disney fan.
