Il capolavoro del grande Bram Stoker,datato 1897. Con questo libro nasce il leggendario,il Vampiro per eccellenza,il quale mito ha portato alla creazione di altri innumerevoli libri su questa affascinante creatura dell'oscurità ed ha ispirato migliaia di autori. Tantissimi film sono stati realizzati sul Conte Dracula,ma,a parer mio, nessuno di essi è riuscito a ricostruire la maestosità della storia ideata da Stoker. Nella vicenda sono presenti personaggi diversi tra loro,tra i quali spicca in particolar modo il professor Van Helsing. Stoker ha creato un personaggio enigmatico,che ha incuriosito ed affascinato milioni di lettori e critici. Chi è Abrham Van Helsing? Come fa a conoscere Dracula?

mio dio questo libro è geniale. mi sto innamorando del dottor seward (L) peccato che sto quasi alla fine c_c alcuni pezzi magari li avrei tolti dalla riscrittura finale,però nel complesso è davvero un bellissimo libro! e non è affatto crudo come dice molta gente,anzi. è scritto abbastanza bene,nonos ... mio dio questo libro è geniale. mi sto innamorando del dottor seward (L) peccato che sto quasi alla fine c_c alcuni pezzi magari li avrei tolti dalla riscrittura finale,però nel complesso è davvero un bellissimo libro! e non è affatto crudo come dice molta gente,anzi. è scritto abbastanza bene,nonostante stoker non abbia la capacità di scrivere in modo fluido,però prende davvero. i personaggi sono definiti e delineati con capacità,persino lucy westenra. van helsing è grandioso,con i suoi "sibili acuti". consiglio la lettura ♥

Dracula -- a fiction about courage and faith

Not excellent in terms of skills and use of language, and too religious-oriented to me. The author kind of overdid the sermons (by Dr. Van Helsing). It is as if I'm in a Catholics church, that I have to say a Hail Mary. Amen.

Not excellent in terms of skills and use of language, and too religious-oriented to me. The author kind of overdid the sermons (by Dr. Van Helsing). It is as if I'm in a Catholics church, that I have to say a Hail Mary. Amen.
The characters here can only be described as gaily, with no other notable human traits at all, and live as though they are already in the heaven. The plot could have been more creative, and it's just too plain and simple for a novel of this length..
With all being said, the story is very easy to read.. Indeed, up to now, it is the longest English novel that I manage to finish. It is excellent for pure leisure reading, as it won't even leave you the slightest bit of confusion. After McCourt's 3 memoirs, I want my brain to rest a little.
Yet why do I still finish it?? Because, taking the skill sets away, the story is still attractive. The plainness of the characters are deliberate for such a novel.
The first half is a better horror novel than the later half. At first, it is truly a page-turner. But as the story reveals, the horror disappears, and it becomes the old Catholic story of courage and faith.

Dopo tutto quello scritto e detto sui vampiri, questa è quella che si può definire la verità...superate le mie personali difficoltà con i romanzi epistolari e con l'inglese, la trama è avvincente e la scrittura lineare. Ho trovato la scelta della struttura epistolare un errore da parte dell'autore: i personaggi scrivono dei diari dove riescono a riportare nei minimi dettagli ogni discussione, ma non sempre è diverso lo stile di scrittura dei diversi personaggi, tant'è che sembra che la persona che scrive sia una sola; allora non valeva la pena scrivere un racconto di un unico personaggio?

Arrivata un po' stanchina a pag. 28, ho deciso di riprenderlo quando avrò più dimestichezza con la lingua inglese.
Comunque, promette molto bene!

Ah, mi rattrista di aver dovuto abbandonare questo romanzo, che mi stava piacendo.
Purtroppo l'ho scordato nella casa dove abitavo prima durante il trasloco...
