I loved every minute of Duma Key, and it's another reminder that King is still the master of his game.

It has been awhile since I read a good ghost story and this novel by Stephen King did not disappoint. I was drawn into plot very quickly by the dropped hints at something bigger about to be revealed. Edgar is compelling as a narrator because he seems to be so helpless against the forces acting upon him. Miss Eastlake provides the perfect old lady to push things up a notch. Of course, I am a sucker for a story drenched in the lore of the Southern past as well. Highly recommend this book for anyone who just loves a spooky ghost story.

    Painting a deadly picture...

Stephen King does it again. He creates a main character you just have to follow no matter how much you want to run away. This time the story is set on Florida's west coast and Edgar Freemantle is feeling creative. And while the sun is setting, he knows it is time to grab those brushes, dip them in r ... (continue)

This time the story is set on Florida's west coast and Edgar Freemantle is feeling creative. And while the sun is setting, he knows it is time to grab those brushes, dip them in red paint (it is always red) and give it go. What could go wrong?
