Engaging
I bought the AD&D 2nd edition more than 20 years ago. I used to play wonderful games with it along with my buds. Things of life, I had to stop playing and I missed the 3rd and the 3.5 edition. Now I've bought the PHB, DMG and the MM and all I can say is... WOW!

The presentation of the book is awesome. The mattes and brights of the cover makes you wanna read it. Inside the book, the information is very clear and well presented. The pictures are awesome too. The two columns layout of the content makes it easy to read it. Maybe two things that I haven't liked are the table of contents which I think is not as complete as it should, and that there's no blood margin left in the attention and the advices of the expert boxes. That's because there's no five stars in my review.
About the content.
I had read that some said that the role soul that has accompanied this game had been lost because of the change of the rules and some blah blah. But I have always thought that role playing is more than just papers, dices and statistics. Role playing, for me, is a way for living an adventure without leaving your dining room, and, the easier the rules, the more fun you get. In my opinion, the 4th ed rules are more straightforward than the 2nd ones and, as a result, although I still haven't ruled a 4th ed game, my feeling is that it will be easier to do.
If you buy it, I hope you enjoy it!
