    disappointing

    The book claims to be written "by two historians". Therefore it could not misbehave as follows:
    -state at the very beginning that the Odyssey and Iliad were written (?!) in the 7th (!!) century B.C.;
    -dedicate 8 scant lines to the "Méduse" shipwreck but 10-20 pages each to modern serial k ... (continue)

    The book claims to be written "by two historians". Therefore it could not misbehave as follows:
    -state at the very beginning that the Odyssey and Iliad were written (?!) in the 7th (!!) century B.C.;
    -dedicate 8 scant lines to the "Méduse" shipwreck but 10-20 pages each to modern serial killers;
    -suggest to go online shopping for Alfred Packer's memorabilia; ... and so on.

    I'll give them ** instead of * because, for those with a dark sense of humor, it is quite well written; but this is, at best, ill-documented entertainment.
