This is unusual, the author has used an old book to inspire her for chapter headings.
Synopsis

teaches me to buy hyped books. Frumpy American woman learns (from an old French book) that life is easier if you dress vell, can walk in high heels, have perfect hair, only own a small but perfect and designer wardrobe, hardly eat. No shit Sherlock. I thought there would have been a second layer of meaning, but no, it's really just about "what not to wear", pimped up with a bit of an absent husband/attractive colleague fluff.
