This four book course of graded grammar exercises aims to develop the pupils’ understanding of the English grammatical system at work. Book 1 is planned for pupils in their second year of learning English as a foreign language and the series takes them up to intermediate level. Grammatical terminology is used sparingly and exercises have been so framed that the average pupil can do them largely independently of the teacher. There are many examples. The aim of the exercises is to produce English that is not only grammatically correct but which also looks and sounds natural.
