>>One thing is Enzo certain of- in his next life, he'll be a human. And exactly because of this, he watches his enviroment carefully and realizes many interesting things. His big idols are his lordling Denny (family father, racing driver and one of the most loyal friends a dog can have, and Ayrton Senna, the brillain rain- racer.
But then Denny's life get's out of control...<<
One of the best books I have ever read in my life (and that means something). It is touching, funny, sad, deep, ironic... everything at once. I can't remember when I cried so much while reading a book for the last time- and that out of different reasons, like sadness, joy, relief,.... Whoever loves racing, funny, sad and deep books will absolutely fall in love with that one. I also liked the little excurses to the past of Formula 1 (who would expect such a book of an American ^.^ ) and the comparison between Schumacher and Senna. Plus: I share the author's (and protagonist's ;-) ) passion for Ayrton Senna, which life, career and death he describes shortly but intensive, and who he always refers back to- because, as the protagonist's lordling, he was a brilliant rain- racing driver. But you will also love "The Art of Racing in the Rain" if you are no heavy racing fan- probably you even would get a feeling for the passion with what we share it. Having a dog as narrator (who is called after the briliiant Ferrari boss, "Enzo") is a fantastic idea. And the ending (so much has to be told), is simply wonderful :) Thank you for writing this book, Mr. Stein!
