This is the first time for me to read Jonson and it's just as humorous as the other English plays. Like Wilde's play, it doesn't have much of a story, but full of witty phrases, esp on women and love. Like in some of the Shakespeare's plays, it also contains some women-hating elements and jokes about women, like wearing make-ups and nagging. Here are some of the quotes that I like:
Silence in woman is like speech in man,
Deny't who can.
Nor is't a tale
That female vice should be a virtue male,
Or masculine vice, a female virtue be;
You shall it see
Proved with increase,
I know to speak, and she to hold her peace.
If she be short, let her sit much, lest when she stands she be thought to sit.
