Good job

The authors have done an admirable job in trying to explain real mathematics to an educated but nonspecialized audience. It is a very difficult thing to do. The authors have done an admirable job in trying to explain real mathematics to an educated but nonspecialized audience. It is a very difficult thing to do. I do not believe they really succeed but it is the best effort I have seen so far. The last part of the book is necessarily too sketchy. More specialists should try their hand at this. It would be a service to the community.
