Not as good as Sunstorm, feels too drawn out, and leaves still many questions unanswered, for instance:
Why did the Firstborn have to create Mir? Isn't that a huge waste of energy too, which they always try to avoid?
Why did the Q-bomb have to switch course to "destroy" the gravitational cage on Mars? What's the problem of letting an Eye be destroyed if it is just a projection anyway?
I guess there'll never be satisfactory answers for these......Continua
Great conclusion of the "Time odissey" trilogy even if I didn't like so much the open-ended final.
Maybe Clarke was leaving himself an open door for another series of books, but, alas, we'll never know.
However, a real must for all science fiction fans
