This book was slow to build its case and in a way I kind of understand why and what the author was trying to do - to build a fairly complex plot to keep the readers guessing. Unfortunately all the mindless tit-tat in the beginning made for an agonizing read. The pace picked up considerably towards the later sections and things got more exciting. I reckon this is a mix of Kathy Reichs and John Grisham towards the end. Much better than Patricia Cornwell whose books I cannot trust myself to get through....Continua
[I would like to give it a rating halfway between "so-so" and "quite good".] Although the body farm theme appeals to me, the authors seem to repeat things from time to time, and the books are written for those who really don't know much at all about forensics (which is fine for those who don't know much about forensics). From a mystery standpoint, it is well developed. I didn't realize who the murderer was until one or two pages before it was revealed, and the clues had been there all along, so that's good....Continua
