A philosopher and a sinologist put their efforts together to translate one of the most interesting and complex Confucian texts of Ancient China. The result is a somewhat puzzling but absolutely intriguing rendering of the text, which in this edition is throughoutfully detailed with notes and explanations of key terms, philosophical points and justification of certain translation choices. I really loved Ames and Hall's approach, and will keep referring to this book as a very interesting insight into the Zhongyong philosophical and semantic complexity.
