  A nice heart-warming little story, kinda in the vein of Alice Hoffman's a Practical Magic. The atmosphere is peculiar and slightly myserious all through the book and makes you forget (and forgive) the many loose ends - we don't quite get to find out enough about the characters and some situations remain unstraightened. All in all a very good and promising debut, nicely written and imaginative.
