    A great talent, a great patent

    An he was immediately given a patent for that.
    Maybe that is why, at times, it seems (to me) that this talent was not used for all what Foster Wallace wrote, but just for most of it.

    Maybe that is why, at times, it seems (to me) that this talent was not used for all what Foster Wallace wrote, but just for most of it.

    Some of the tales are wonderful (the first is exceptional; the same with that involving President Johnson).

    Others, though (I am referring in particular to the tale involving Letterman), only seem to me as perfect creative writing exercises and little more.

    Foster Wallace wrote to ease the pain. And we know that medicine does not always taste good.
