The Morganville Vampires, Book 1

From the author of the popular Weather Warden series. Welcome to Morganville, Texas. Just don't stay out after dark. College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation, where the popular girls never let her forget just where she ranks in the school's social scene: somewhere less than zero. When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life. But they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood.

Not those vampire-meets-girl-and-fall-in-love type of classic vampire romance. The main character Claire is smart and love to read and study but have accidentally make the most popular girl Monica look stupid in front of her friends so she is suffering badly.

Things got worse as she realises Monica is really trying to kill her, she escapes from her dorm and becomes a tentant of Glass house where Michael, Shane and Eve live there.

These three character are really interesting! Their interaction and dialogues are funny and readers can really feel their close relationship.

Shane is hot and Michael is attractive but maybe not enough romance in book 1, especially no vampire-human romance because the vampire in this story are the bad guy.

  • Another Teen Vampire Series

Luckily, this one has some surprises. A genuine heroine who is easily empathized with and stronger than she knows. Luckily, this one has some surprises. A genuine heroine who is easily empathized with and stronger than she knows. The basic story is that Claire Danvers attends college in a vampire infested town in Texas. She seeks refuge in a misfit house. The three roommates she ends up with are truly unique but with secrets of their own. At least the heroine in this series does not desire the vampires. Not yet anyway.

  • This was a good urban fantasy. I liked how Claire learns to deal with trouble both living and undead. I look forward to reading next book in series, Dead Girl's Dance.
