The author has extensive knowledge of histories and other facts concerning how religions have through the ages (and still do) "poisons everything" (as he repeated stressed). This wealth of information is one of the merits of this book, but, in comparison, the arguement against religions (or, to be more specific, faith and god) in theoretic terms is left a bit wanting. For readers interested in this part of arguement I recommend Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion.
