From her humble beginnings to her time in the spotlight as the first female Republican Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin has led an extraordinary life. Going Rogue will recount her political experiences, her time as Mayor of Wasilla and as the first female governor of Alaska, as well as her rapid rise on the national stage during the 2008 campaign.  Additionally, she’ll share insights into the personal challenges she’s faced including balancing her time as a working mother, recognizing the war’s impact with her son serving combat in Iraq, having a child with a disability and supporting her teenage daughter through an unplanned pregnancy.

Palin has received much attention through the media, but never before has her complete story been told in her own words. The memoir will be both a personal and political chronicle of her life.

  • Going Rogue: An American Life by Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is a figure of fun on the American left, easily lampooned as a know-nothing, gun-toting ex-beauty queen who loves God and the red, white and blue above pretty much anything else except for Todd, her macho husband, who races snowmobiles ac ... (read full critics)

  • Going Rogue by Sarah Palin

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's memoir needs recipes in the worst way. Admittedly, that's an absurd hook for a book that's supposedly about politics, but Going Rogue uses food, food and more food to create scenes of familial warmth and Mama Bear ... (read full critics)

This was my first autobiography of a political figure. I have heard a lot about Sarah Palin in the media even though i am not interested in politics. Her outrageous comments and the Canadian radio show that pranked her, intrigued me enough to want to learn more.

I must say i have not been let down. Sarah Palin's honesty and earnestness shine through this book. She finally has a say in what really happened and it does shed some light on some of the ridiculous stories that the media spurned. I am very impressed by the final decision she made just to ensure Alaska progresses; and i sincerely hope that she may make a comeback in politics, because someone as hardworking and idealistic albeit a tad naive is a refreshing change on the scene. This book was quite inspiring.

However, i do have to add that at points in the book, i felt that she was trying a little too hard - she seemed to call a lot of people nice, sweet and beautiful. I mean, we get the gist. :)
