Rainie Conner, a former law enforcement officer has been kidnapped. Her husband, a retired FBI profiler teams up with his daughter and the state police to try and decipher the deceptively simple ransom notes that have been sent. It is a race against time as most ransom cases normally end in tragedies. Unfortunately, there are too little clues, too many leads to follow up, and no time at all.
This has become one of my favourite novels. Lisa Gardner has to be one of the best crime writers around. The personalities of the characters in the novel have been beautifully teased out, and the pace of the action is fast enough to keep you sitting on edge but not too much that you just want to sigh in suspense.
A novel highly recommended!...Continua
