  • Have A Little Faith By Mitch Albom

Success hasn’t gone to Mitch Albom’s head. It’s gone to his heart. Fifteen years ago, Albom was already the best-known sportswriter in Detroit, having worked his way into the majors by writing for Sports Illustrated and the Philadelphia Inquirer. He ... (read full critics)

Upon finishing Have a Little Faith, I was tempted to dismiss it as "just another typical Mitch Albom book", but with second thoughts I realized this book isn't just another inspirational non-fiction; it is a testimony of how two great persons - Rabbi Albert Lewis and Pastor Henry Covington - built two communities and saved lives of others, both in the physical and spiritual sense.

What I appreciate most is Henry's story: how he went from a wretched human filth to a beacon of light and hope for countless others. Albom did humanity a service by sharing that story; now people are pouring in to do what they can to help that precious little community.

Albom's biography of Albert Lewis "the Reb" is also insightful. It's good to read about inter-faith acceptance. As the book title reminds us, having a little faith is essential. Not only to our individual selves, but also to people around us, for when we hold to our faith and stand tall, others will look up, and in time stand tall too.

It's always a self-searching experience to read Mitch Elbom's book. I have read the previous ones and I just love it!

I have started to read this book 3 times but could not finish. It is not because of the book but other factors. Finally I decided to finish it no matter what and this time it took me just 9 days to finish this book.

I have cried a few times during those departing moments. I like the knowledge shared by the Reb. Maybe we have different faiths, but the objective to help people become better is universal in the core of the different faiths in the world. The Reb shared intelligence in living, how to live happily, how to use your little faith to make a big difference in your life.

This book is not a doubt as one of my books of recommend!!

  • it touches, esp when you have the experience of watching someone you love aging and dying...
also, it gives a good reflection of what faith, rituals, connectedness and life mean, and how much they weigh...

  • I really love the narrative style of Mitch Albom - simple but meanful. I am not interested in religion though.
