    Not sure i would have liked Mr Hitchens, to be honest, who probably had a bit of the marmite effect on those he met. One cannot question his erudition, however, or the quality of his inquiry into modern politics, religion and human behaviour. It's moving in part because of the dramatic irony bestowed by our knowledge of his imminent and untimely death. And interesting in chief because of the front row seat he seemed to occupy at various turning points in European, Middle Eastern and US history. Blimey, though, he must have been exhausted stooping to pick up all those names he dropped in the writing...
