Stephanie Plum is back in her spandex and ready to rock ’n’ roll

Packed with more of her trademark humorous, hard-edged dialogue, gritty atmosphere, and devil-may-care action, Janet Evanovich takes us on another wild ride with her half-Hungarian, half-Italian, all-Jersey, all-sassy, savvy, sexy, smart-mouthed bounty hunter, the pride of Trenton, who...before we get carried away here, let’s see part of what’s happening:

Stephanie embarks on her biggest quest yet. Ranger, super bounty hunter and one of the guys who makes Stephanie’s hormones curl their toes, is missing. So, Stephanie and vice-cop Joe Morelli, the other guy who makes Stephanie’s hormones dance, team up to find him. Grandma Mazur has a fight with Stephanie’s father and moves in with Stephanie and her hamster, Rex. And, hold the presses, we find out whether it was Ranger or Morelli that Stephanie slept with at the end of High Five. Stephanie discovers that she’s in serious peril when...well, we can’t give it all away.

This is another great romp by a great writer who’s a New York Times bestselling author—and deserves to be.

My Review: Hot Six is another great audiobook by Janet Evanovich. Stephanie Plum is one hell of a bounty hunter… well, sometimes. She’s hilarious and constantly surrounded by drama. This time it’s different though, she’s expected to bring in her friend and fellow bounty hunter, Ranger. Yup, same Ranger that has given her hot flashes in the past.

Stephanie ends up with a spastic dog, Bob, that’s scared to be alone and an eating disorder. Bob only adds to the fun at the house, especially since Grandma Mazar moves in! Grandma Mazar is convinced she’s not going to live with Stephanie’s parents anymore and that she’s going to get her driver’s license. She buys a sweet little car and, of course, fails her driving test. Grandma Mazur is hilarious! Sadly, because this audiobook was abridged, I’m sure a lot of her little quirks were cut out.

As usual, she teams up with Vice Cop Joe Morelli and manages to hold off the craziness to solve the mystery behind a murder.

Narrator Review: Here we go again with Debi Mazar. I’ve made my feelings known in my previous post, High Five, so I won’t go into too much of a bitch session. My biggest complaint, she narrates way too dang fast. Take a breath woman.

On a delicious note, next up is Seven Up, narrated by Lorelei King! WOOT!

First and foremost, this is not a "classic". This is just entertaining literature, so I hope nobody is expecting an opus (despite my 4 stars!).

This is just what you need either in a Summer day for relaxing, or in a rainy day to cheer you up. There's always a lot going on in Stephanie Plum's books and most of it is weird and with plenty of unlikely characters... Morelli and Ranger included. But, who cares?!? I mean, both Morelli and Ranger are a reason good enough to read Stephany's odd adventures.
...but I still think that, as a bounty hunter, she should at least learn how to fire a gun!!!
