The forth book of this series begins with the tell of how the character Karsa Orlong joined the army of the Apocalypse and continues with events that, even if different in purpose and nature, converge at the end and decide the fate of the rebellion. Events that interweave also with problems related to the throne of the House of Shadows, with the formation of the House of Chain and with the end of the Bridgeburners.
A lot of new characters are presented and old characters are deepen. I would not have imagined I could like Cotillion, after reading Gardens of the Moon.
The first part of the book is slower that the following, in my opinion this happens because there is only one character to relate with and Karsa Orlong is not very likeable. But the rest of the book is worth the effort and presents an explosive final act.
I loved this book and this is my favourite fantasy series.
