    I'm in the middle of reading this, and let me say it: what a great book! It's not only very well researched and driven by a coherent narrative, but it's also a pleasure to read. It's got something for everyone, from the music lover to the popular music scholar, and it's been a very long time since I've read such an etertaining "academic" book.
    If anything, the title is catchy but potentially misleading. If you just chance upon it, it might make you expect a more divulgative book than this really is.
