Sometimes the best reads come to you in simple packages that contain outstanding words. Jack Foster’s book doesn’t take very long to consume and digest and it tastes damn good. Now there’s an idea. A book you can eat. Tasty delights with your cappuccino.
Isn’t it true that all great things begin in ideas? Also, isn’t it true we all want to come up with that one “big” idea that will give us distinction? That is to say, the great idea that will make us rich, or famous, or more attractive. How do you get new ideas?
Foster quotes Robert Frost, “The brain is a wonderful organ. It starts working the moment you get up in the morning and does not stop until you get to the office.”
So . . .you aren’t going to get new ideas if you keep doing what you’ve been doing all along. He says forget what was done before, break all the rules, be illogical, be like a child and believe because . . .
Ideas exist. You can get new ideas. When you’re not sure an answer exists, finding it can be hard. When you know there are many answers, finding one or two is easy. You change. You can be different. You can think differently.
The world is full of talented people who are unsuccessful. People are born wealthy but die poor. Unrewarded genius is common. Educated minds have not stopped kingdoms from ruin. Nothing in the world takes the place of persistence. Persistence and determination are omnipotent. So when you get an idea . . . take it, seize it, stay with it.
To get an idea first define the problem. Then, gather the information. Next, search that information for the idea. Take a break, forget about it. Finally, inspiration will come and when it does -- put that idea into action.
Getting an idea depends on your belief in its existence and your belief in yourself.

This is a great primer if you're looking for ideas. I recommend you purchase it.
