This book was deeply satisfying. It is at time long winded and overly thorough - owing to the interests of the authors in philosophy. It is a must-read for any serious reader.
Basically the book aims to teach how to read beyond the mechanics of reading. How to read a book for all it's worth. Most books are only worth a skim (a term they define differently than popular use.) This book is primarily about how to get the most out of those books that help us grow in understanding. These books are far more valuable than books that help us grow in information or knowledge.
