Book Description
Robert Neville may well be the last living man on Earth . . . but he is not alone. An incurable plague has mutated every other man, woman, and child into bloodthirsty, nocturnal creatures who are determined to destroy him. By day, he is a hunter, stalking the infected monstrosities through the abandoned ruins of civilization. By night, he barricades himself in his home and prays for dawn.... Richard Matheson's classic novel has now been transformed by Warner Bros. into a major motion picture starring Academy Award nominee Will Smith. Directed by Francis Lawrence ('Constantine'), the film opens nationwide in December 2007.

As a side-note, I'm very surprised to see how much they are changing from the book for the Will Smith movie coming out in December. The move from Los Angeles to New York City is pretty major in itself.
I wished it were longer and more expansive. I liked how the title made perfect sense only at the very last sentance. Well done.
This is a really good book, MUCH better than the movie. The movie, in my opinion, had no right to use the same title of the book as the only similarity is the fact that the main character's name is Robert Neville. It is a great vampire story.
FYI, the copy I picked up also contained assorted short stories from Richard Matheson. A few of which were really good.
I have to say this is favorite book of all time. Matheson is a creative genius. Simply a masterpiece that everyone should check out. End of story.
