This book was well written and I'll probably look up more by this author at some point but at the same time, I didn't find it all that interesting. This book was well written and I'll probably look up more by this author at some point but at the same time, I didn't find it all that interesting. I would have much rather read about the consequences of her decision rather than everything in her past leading up to it. It's written for a much younger audience though so maybe if I was younger it would have been more emotional for me to put myself in her place. At my age, a high school boyfriend would not be a big influence on my decision, lol

I was at Chapters, browsing through the teen section (which was still preoccupied by the typical topic of vampires) and I found this book. It stood out pretty well against all of the dark, covered books (all vampire of course...go figure) since it has a light blue cover. Once I picked it up, the summary told me that its based on a girl who loved music, had to face extremely hard choices, and suddenly was thrown into a situation that gave her the hardest choice she has ever had to make. Even though this barely told me anything, it still inspired me to actually keep reading. Reading about something that has nothing to do with "supernatural powers" is actually a very good too. As I kept reading, I'm glad that the summary was pretty vague, because once that 'situation' comes up, I immediately had to keep reading. Alright, that probably sounds strange, but overall it's a really compelling story.
