What's lurking in the woods?
This page-turner kept me awake for 2 days straight. Very satisfying read.
Maybe because this murder investigation is set in Dublin, Ireland and therefore deemed exotic from my north american standards. Nonetheless, it is refreshingly different from the countless predictable thrillers churned ... (continue)

The story is a bit too long, and if you are looking for something with a happy ending, you might need to rethink about starting this one. Rob messed up everything and got himself kicked out from the murder squad team, the bad person got away, Cassie and Sam got engaged. And the old case wasn't sol ... (continue)

It is a psychological thriller that kind of creepy, richly atmospheric in its complexity of psychological suspense; well-written and stunning, but the downside, for me, is how the book ends. :`( Ryan is really catastrophic; yet, somehow I expects him to do much better than that.

'In the Woods' by Tana French
When I first picked up Tana French's In The Woods at JFK airport on my last trip to New York last October I envisaged it would tread similar territory to Edna O'Brien's dark, claustrophobic In the Forest. After all, they're both Irish crime books by ... (read full critics)
