Classic Vampire Tale
Anne Rice modernized the erotic vampire tale when she published Interview with the Vampire. I read this in college and decided with all the new vampire hype to read it again. Well written and intelligent, unlike today's so called "vampire" series. First read this in school and loved it from the beginning not only because of the way Rice created her vampires but also how it steered away from traditional "boy meets girl and fall in love" that most stories have.

Hey, this one was good.....
...not too melodramatic, and coherent. The vampires were believable and had motivations, and the general tone was extremely elegant. Just a few steps short of a classic.
Then Rice became a vampire for money, and you all saw what happened.
