Interview Wth the Vampir
The problem of the vampire
This book is a good initial examination of human morality through the eyes of an immortal. Does human morality still play in a being so different, yet so similar to humans? Should the vampire itself feel it is a devil and a fiend? Or should the
vampire embrace itself and forget humanity?
An interesting examination of gender roles. In this story procreation and sex (making other vampires by sucking blood!) Have nothing to do with being male or female as both previously human sexes can do this with equal capability.
Tries to examine the problem of religion once the characters are aware that they are no longer human and supernatural things can happen. This is explored more and better in the future titles in the series.
