The story is well structured and planned. I particularly like the author blending common knowledge of the insects into the story.
Aw this was just a lovely children's book. Its such a brilliant story its obvious why it was such a big hit with kids and remains a popular kids book to this day. Big huge insects as your friends, living in a giant peach, flying to America by way of seagulls! I love it so why wouldn't a child! I don't have kids yet but I know that when I do they will all be Roald Dahl lovers if I have anything to do with it!...Continua
Okay, I had seen the movie way before I knew the book existed, but then I read back in 2003 and I liked it, but on a whim I decided to read it again in one night, and I fell in love with it. I actually had this whole new appreciation for its comical quips.
I love Mr. Earthworm, he is so entertaining and I just love his character. Really all of them are wonderful, but he just stood out.
Ms. Ladybug and Ms. Spider were also very high favorites.
The adventures of the peach and the marvelous things that James and his insect friends encounter are all made of the things children imagine in their dreams and fantasy games.
This book is a must read and I must have a copy....Continua
Totally dreamy, with a lot of surprises and turn overs, very very visual. That's the reason is often used in Creative Labs. Good one but my favorite by Dahl is still Witches!
Just finished reading this the second time around...this time to my daughter! From now on, it will always be a favourite of both of ours.
