Unlike the forgettable movie, I liked this a lot. There are no ridiculous Paladin secret societies here, only a kid with a gift. A tremendous gift, that sometimes can do more harm than good.

More similar to a coming of age story than science fiction, but a thrilling one. I recommend this, more so if you are avoiding it because of the silly movie.
