I'd heard so many good things about this book, I think I imagined it was going to be the Greatest, Best, Funniest book in existence. It was going to reach the highest heights of humour and I was going to be rolling on the floor with laughter. I think I imagined it so much, that it couldn't possibly live up to it.
And it was a good book. It was a funny book. It was entertaining and smart and absurd in all the right ways. It's one of the better books I've read so far this year.
It just wasn't quite what I imagined, and that's okay because I don't think what I imagined could really exist, so I think my imagination cast a bit of a pall over my reading experience, and that's too bad. I'll have to try some of Moore's other books, where I won't have any expectations beyond a bit of entertainment.
