Follow Adams to visit some of the most endangered species on earth. For such a book, "Last Chance to See" is a pretty ominous title, and for these animals it was, sadly, their last chance to see Adams.
This book is not just about visiting the animals and showing us how cute they are, (in fact, for a book on animals, there are interestingly few pictures) it is also a travelogue about the places these animals live in, the people working desperately to save them (I salute them), and, not surprisingly, about the crew themselves. In short, it's what Adams does best, touching your heart and mind with sharp wit and humour.
Semi off-topic:
If you like the book, you certainly would be interested in the TV series made by BBC twenty years since. And, gladly, for most of the animals, the book title has been wrong.
