  I got this from my teacher in secondary school and it is great to dip into every so often to keep up my French. Each chapter is a story (or I should say adventure) in its own right and is short and easy to read. Little Nicolas tells it like it is in his simple language which still reveals the humourous natures of his school companions, his parents and his neighbours.
