The book is written with a simple language, sprinkled here and there with some more refined words. Simple words for an incredibly deep story. I struggle believing that the author is a man. He wrote with delicacy, drawing delightful dialogues with a sensitivity that leaves the reader moved. The characters definition is clear and reach in details, the setting is described vividly, creating a realistic ambiance. Sometimes it feels like being there, with the oppressive heat and the lack of privacy, feeling the eyes of talebans watching over you. It is a delicate story, that will improve our understanding of a culture too distant from our, and the simpathy towards a population oppressed by their own people.
I would read it again.
