Les Justes (the just) was written in 1949 based on a real event -a terrorist bombing in 1905 which killed the uncle of the tzar, the grand duc. Les Justes follows the terrorist cell before, during and after the event. What is shocking is that reading it, you would swear it was a description of an al quaida cell today. The issues of what is justifiable in a revolution and what is not, what about the children, what about love... amazingly pertinent even now...
