I had a very interesting realization while reading this book in Mr. Gaydos' English class. I had read Lord of the Flies a couple years prior to this class, and I knew how it ended. We were having in class silent reading, and I was coming towards the death of Piggy, and i closed my book and put it down. I didn't want him to die. I looked around the room and wondered where other people were in the book. Was Piggy already dead? I thought about how if i just stop reading now Piggy will still be alive. I didn't finish the book that time. I wanted it to 'end' with Piggy still alive, at least in my book.
