A very addictive novel, with characters so well constructed that it's difficult not to like them all. A lovely story with a great climax.
Sometimes, though, a bit difficult to read (for a non native speaker at least), due to the richness of Morrison's writing and the way she builds the scenes, mixing present and past in a continuous flow.
I found this to be a very uncomfortable book and I didn't like it at all.
I was expecting more from this novel. It ends up being quite boring and fails to provide that sense of suspence that the author clearly struggles to create. The whole plot is quite confusing and very complicated, there are too many characters which overlap and the reader really struggles to keep up with what's going on and with who's saying and doing what, etc. The "mystery" unbundles too further on in the book, and even then it's neither exciting nor intriguing. A bit of a let down, to be honest, and surely not Morrison's best attempt....Continua
