with a lot of people's stories to illustrate how they work / live after all, i didn't go through all the stories since they are all identical, nothing related to hk. but quite a good book. easy to read.
[ quote ]
what is this attachment between 2 people about? ...they make both people feel secure and protected, the 5 aspects they defined are - caring, intimacy, family feeling, commitment, reciprocal identity support.
to be loved means to be consumed. to love is to give light with inexhaustible oil. to be loved is to pass away. to love is to endure.
we find a place for what we lose. although we know that after such a loss, the acute stage of mourning will subside, we also know that we shall remain inconsolable and will never find a substitute. no matter what may fill the gap, even if it be filled completely, it nevertheless remains something else. (sigmund freud)
only those who avoid love can avoid grief. the point is to learn from it and remain vulnerable to love.
