  Emily Giffin is an excellent writer. The book, like her others, is well-written. I am amazed at how she gives perspective to all her novels. I applaud her talent.

  Emily Giffin is an excellent writer. The book, like her others, is well-written. I am amazed at how she gives perspective to all her novels. I applaud her talent.

  But the story combines two things that I hate so much---cheating and I-Heart-NY obsession (get over yourselves already). I was sickened the whole time I was reading the book. This should have been subtitled "A Cheating Manual" or "How Cheating Can Be Justified". I was going to give it only one star because of this, but I can't ignore the fact that Giffin wove a good story---despite the fact that I completely hate Ellen. I do understand why she feels those things and why she had to do what she did but that doesn't mean that I accept it.

  So 3 stars it is.
