Phury is the brother I like less, so maybe my judgement is influenced by my opinion, anyway to me this is one of the weakest book of the saga. The first half of the story is a bit confused, too many facts happen and are put together roughly. Action moves from one stage to the next one too fast and the plot is a bit blurry. The whole Primale thing sucks and the solution to its big issue too predictable. The book gets better only towards its very end when Phury stands before his kin and drops all defences, showing his weakness and needs. That's the very best part of all and I think J.R. Ward really masters the desplay of emotions in her books when it comes to such a point.

I have to say that the Black Dagger Brotherhood has become addictive. JR Ward has built an amazing world and at times you completely forget that it involves Vampires. This has to be my favorite of the entire series so far. More story lines are built and twists and turns appear and you can even feel the set up of future story lines building. The love story was wonderful because it isn't perfect; which makes it feel more realistic. I love the relationship struggles between several characters: Phury and Z; Phury and Cormia; Blay & Quinn; John and well himself. I also love the twist with Lash and the Lessers. This is not a quick read but it was definitely worth my time.

  • Worth the wait...

Again, I really enjoyed this, Phury's book. So he's kind of the last brother of the lot to have his own book but it was definitely worth the wait! Again, I really enjoyed this, Phury's book. So he's kind of the last brother of the lot to have his own book but it was definitely worth the wait! When I say kind of, of course Thorment made a reappearance in this book so I presume there will be one about him in the future but I believe it will be awhile as he seems so damaged from the death of his pregnant shellan, Wellsie, that I can't see him having a love interest for some time. And please, you cannot have a BDB book without a love interest.

So Phury is the race's Primale which basically means he has to get it on with about forty of the Chosen in the hopes that he will impregnate them and expand the race. He ain't too happy about this especially when he begins to fall for Cormia, his First Mate. If you've read a BDB book before you know there's gonna be a happy ending but actually this one has a good few twists and turns and I thought a few unexpected parts that made it really exciting.

By the way I have a feeling that there will now be books about Qhuinn, Blay and John, probably Rehvenge and maybe Lassiter so things are only looking better!! Cannot wait for the three boys books as they are so adorably cute! Really want Blay to find love too. Brilliant!

“You want to know what I’ve been doing for the last month or two?”
    “Yes...”
“I wake up and panic whether you’re still alive.”

Alla nascita di Nalla, quando Z si presenta davanti al fratello cantando con la sua voce d'angelo...

As Z straightened, it was hard to say who stepped forward first.
Most likely they met in the middle.
Neither said anything while they embraced. Sometimes words didn’t go far enough, the vessels of letters and the ladles of grammar incapable of holding the heart’s sentiments.
    The Brotherhood started to clap.
At some point, Phury reached out and took Cormia’s hand, drawing her close.
He pulled back and looked at his twin. “Tell me, does she have yellow eyes?”
Z smiled and nodded. “Yeah, she does. Bella says she looks like me . . . which means she looks like you. Come meet my little girl, brother mine. Come back and meet your niece. There’s a big empty place on her crib, and we need the two of you to fill it.”
Phury held Cormia close and felt her hand rub the center of his chest. Taking a deep breath, he swiped his eyes. “That’s my favorite opera and my favorite solo.”
"I know.” Z smiled at Cormia and referenced the first two lines, “Che gelida manina, se la lasci riscaldar.” “And now you have a little hand to warm in your own.”

È un antipersonaggio. Vorrebbe essere un eroe, ma you cannot save what cannot be rescued.

Seriously, can Phury, Cormia and the whole Chosen/Primale affair be more boring? It was a struggle to go through pages and pages of Phury's addiction and that ridiculous "wizard" in his head, not to mention Cormia's borderline personality. Luckily, we get a good shock with Lash's background and outcome and the new warriors' -that is Qhuinn, Blay and John- relationships. The scene between Blay and Qhuinn in the PT is probably the highest moment in the whole book! A lot has happened, Tohr's back, there're a couple new characters, the fallen angel Lassiter and V.'s female twin... and what do we get in book 7? Rhevenge's story! Who cares??
